Zoe has always been passionate about pushing her limits. As a young athlete, she excelled in swimming, athletics, and boccia, even earning a Paralympic silver medal. This drive and ambition now fuel her music career. Zoe’s journey from athlete to singer-songwriter is a testament to her belief that anything is possible, no matter the challenges life presents.
For years, Zoe dreamed of becoming a pop singer. However, with a severe speech disorder, it seemed like an impossible goal. She struggled to speak and couldn't sing, but that didn’t stop her from writing song lyrics. Despite the obstacles, Zoe’s dreams never faded, and technology would soon play a key role in bringing them to life.
Thanks to her good friend Lyn Sheppard, a music and video producer at Virtual World Studios, Zoe discovered the power of emerging technology. Lyn believed in Zoe’s potential and introduced her to technology that could generate a singing voice similar to the speech aids she uses on a daily basis. This breakthrough allowed Zoe to finally sing the songs she had written. In just a few weeks, they had five songs ready for release, featuring Zoe’s lyrics and her AI-generated voice.
Zoe Edge was born with severe Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, but she doesn’t see her disability as a limitation. It’s an integral part of her identity that shapes her resilience, determination, and the way she approaches life. Despite requiring assistance with daily tasks, Zoe lives with ambition, humour, and a relentless drive to break boundaries—both in life and in her career.
Beyond her music career, Zoe is also an ardent supporter of Chesterfield Football Club. From attending matches since childhood to becoming a season ticket holder after retiring from sports, Zoe's love for the Spireites runs deep. Her dedication to the club earned her numerous accolades, including Fan of the Year and a special recognition room at the stadium. Football, like music, is a key part of Zoe’s life.
Today, Zoe is not just a Paralympian and football fan—she’s a successful singer-songwriter, releasing music under her own label. The combination of her lyrics, Lyn’s production, and innovative voice technology has allowed Zoe to bring her music dreams to life. With several songs already released and more on the way, Zoe is embracing a future where she can be both the artist and the voice behind her music.
